Dear bloggers
1. What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image? When I saw the picture I think the citizens live in Brazil think the government shouldn’t have built a big stadium for the world cup and use all the money on hospital and education.
2. What does this image make you think about and why? It made me think that they don’t really think it’s a good idea to build a stadium because on the paper that the ladies were holding it says ‘we don’t want world cup’ and ‘we need money for hospitals and education’ it made me think they disagree with the government.
3. How does the image make you feel and why? The image made the think that it is not fair that they don’t get what they really want and it also thinks that the government didn’t really cared about the citizens and tries to make Brazil more popular than other countries.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil? I think people are upset maybe they think they used too much money on the world cup and didn’t use the money on the more important things like medication and education. Or maybe is because they think the people there want to buy ticket for every single world cup game and spend most of their money on it and didn’t get enough money to use on other things.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there? I think it impacts on their lives by the world cup stadium and the things they built for the world cup and all the people that came to watch the world cup and other famous places like the statue of Christ. It impacts on their lives because the tourists might make a lot of loud noises and they might not be able to sleep well or something.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why? I think the main message behind the image is care for others because the government didn’t really think about the citizens and what would they think about the world cup at their country. The citizens might think that the kids won’t want to do their homework and watch the sports and the doctors won’t care about the people that are sick and focus on the world cup.

1. My initial was they were right about money and education soccer can come last after money and mostly education.
2. It makes me feel greedy that I have food and a house and they don’t.
3. Like I said it makes me feel greedy.
4. They are upset because they are losing their money
5. It can impact less population
6. I think the main image means the poor people are saying “we need more education and money”.
Hi fellow Bloggers,
My initial thoughts about this picture were about the fact that while we are watching the world cup relaxing people in Brazil are protesting about this event and how they can’t enjoy it, they need the money for something else. The image makes me think about how people in Brazil are actually outside all the excitement and happiness in the stadium feeling angry and depressed. The image makes me feel sad and sorry for the people who can’t live without the money that was spent on the world cup. I think the reason that people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil is that the money spent in the event was wasted and could have been used for things like health and education things that are vital in a country. The Impact something like this could do to the people living there is that the will be poorly educated or not even educated at all and when people get sick it is harder for them to recover and for the country to find cures or to afford lifesaving medicine. The main message behind this picture is don’t waist an important opportunity as that’s exactly what happened.
1. What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image?
When I saw the image, I felt as though they were wrong but if I were homeless and had no food I would not care about some people kicking around a ball. Of course the world cup is something that should stay so I believe they should balance the amount going to each cause.
For we do not need more poverty in the world one country can sure supply these needs to the homeless and still have more money than one could imagine, because all they are asking is for life’s basic necessities
2. What does this image make you think about and why?
It makes me think that the world is losing its better economy for we are losing the opportunity to offer the homeless an essential job. I also think that poverty is growing example: on my travel to Europe, (now remember Europe has an unbearable population) not everyone is employed or some are but do not receive pay.
3. How does the image make you feel and why?
I feel lucky to have a roof over my head and a family that loves and cares for me that can provide for me. I am breathless that I am one of the decreasing amount of people who have education.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil?
Now let’s face it Brazil has not the best economy but I must say neither the worst. In Brazil majority are filled of homeless, foodless and workless beggars. So many people in Brazil have no roof over their head or food on their table (if they even have a table). Like in most countries money is split to one side ‘the rich’ but not to the other side ‘the poor’ we are lucky to live in Australia for it has a great economy. And now when the homeless see that Brazil’s money is going towards mega events rather than housing, hospitals and education of course they are sad and angry and they have every right.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there?
It can impact on their work pay, their food, and their chances to get employed; in fact the decision of a nation impacts the whole nation. Although majority of the time it is not the whole nation deciding it is the political side that chooses.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why?
I believe the message is that so many are still stuck with nothing and are sick, homeless and have no food when their country is fighting for tourism and other unworthy causes. It is poverty that should be concerning it is the growing of deaths by starvation that should be a concern and I think Brazil is overlooking that.
1. What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image?
When I just had a glance of this image, I was very shock because personally I like to watch the World Cup but when I saw the second poster I was devastated to see that there are people out there that don’t have an education. Although I do like to watch the World Cup I think the money should be spent on people who can’t afford the human rights. I believe ensuring that others are safe and have an education is essential, however the World Cup should continue as an entertainment but less money should be spent an instead help the one’s in need.
2. What does this image make you think about and why?
In my opinion, this image made me think about why not using only just a limited amount of money to offer the people in need to make sure that everyone can receive the human rights. I also thought that that these people would have been suffering while the World cup has been running. I could see how desperate they were because they were basically protesting.
3. How does the image make you feel and why?
This image made me feel very guilty because I am very lucky to have all the human rights and while I am enjoying watching the World Cup I am being selfish not thinking about the other people who may disagree and have their own reasons which I believe is more important than watching soccer players kicking the ball.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil?
I think people in Brazil who are upset about the fact that their home country is hosting a major sporting event feel curious and disappointed on their country is not thinking about them who don’t have the human necessities and instead wasting Brazil’s money on something that isn’t needed or necessary and Brazil who does not have a good economy.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there?
The decision of a nation can impact lives of people living there by impacting on their food, water and getting employed. Also a decision can also impact on the nation because they may not all agree and the political side may not think of others and have a thorough understanding about everyone’s situation or scenario they are suffering or are having.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why?
I think the message behind this image is that there are still people out there that are suffering not having education and human rights while their home country is hosting major events spending thousands of money that could be spent for more important needs.
1. My first initial thoughts when I saw the photo, was that how can the government choose soccer and spend billions of dollars just on stadiums when there are people starving, that don’t have a good education, those who can’t financially support their families and all those people who are in need of health care.
2. The photo made me think and also made me feel fortunate that I live in such a rich country that is fully protected by the government. Not only just protected but, being able to financially support our families. Basically having all the necessities to live a healthy life.
3. The image made me feel fortunate to be able to study freely without worries whereas people do not get the opportunity to achieve goals in life.
4. From my perspective, I believe that the people of Brazil are upset for Brazil hosting such a major event is because the stadiums cost so much money when the money could have gone to the poor.
5. The decisions of the government could impact the population because people may die out.
6. I believe that the main message was that the government should’ve thought more carefully before spending the money on stadiums.

Dear Fellow Bloggers,
Here is my response to the blog questions…
1. What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image?
One of my initial thoughts when I saw this image was that the people in Brazil weren’t very happy about having the World Cup. I thought this because the people in the image were holding up signs protesting about the World Cup.
2. What does this image make you think about and why?
This image makes me think of homeless or poor people because one of the signs being held up in the picture says, ‘We need money for hospitals and education’ and they probably wouldn’t be saying that if they did have those things. This makes me think that some of them are poor.
3. How does the image make you feel and why?
This image makes me feel quite upset because some people obviously don’t have access to hospitals and education.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil?
I think the people in Brazil are upset about having a major sporting event because some of their people don’t even have an education, so the government should be supporting them in that, but instead the government is spending all the money on the World Cup.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there?
The decision of a nation can impact the lives of people living there, if the nation decides to spend lots of money on an event and doesn’t support the poor. This means that the poor will keep on suffering instead of being helped.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why?
I think that the main message behind this image is to think about something before you go ahead with it. I think this because the government should of thought about the poor people’s health and education before spending all the money on a sporting event.

Hello fellow bloggers,
My Initial thoughts looking at this image was, did Brazil and its government really think about the consequences of holding and spending so much money on the world cup. Looking at this image I thought about how lucky we are to have a great source of resources and we live in a country stable enough to hold big events like this. Looking at this image I felt kind of sad for the people of Brazil, but also disappointed that they decided the world cup over their own people. I think the people of Brazil are upset about hosting the world cup because there are so many people that aren’t even able to buy food and depend on the government and then they spend all their money on the stadiums and public transport for the world cup. The decision of a nation can impact their people in many ways especially if they make the wrong choices, they could become homeless, have no food or a source of clean water. I think the meaning behind this image is put others in front of you and think about what you’re doing before you do it.
Hello earthlings
My initial thoughts when I saw this was why couldn’t brazil ask to fix the world cup somewhere else if they couldn’t at least give a third of the money they were putting in to give make the stadium then instead they waste all of it and even more just or a few stadiums. This image makes me think about all the poor people living in slums trying to get money but it goes dry so quickly since most of it gets sucked up from landlords and taxes. This image makes me fell mixed since all the poor people needing money are being rejected for what just a single stadium their gong to use only once and then it will not be used at all. I think that people are upset for having major football field since it’s basically a 1 one time use thing after that it will not be touched unless the next word cup that comes there way but even then they will make new stadiums to keep up with “ the new age’’ and since all of the money going to poor was changed to building stadiums I think that’s why people are mad. The decisions of a nation can impact since if you were originally going to give people money but then don’t that can and will make people sad. I think the main message is help the poor we are all human beings you think your gods your wrong we need education and money help us.

1. What were your enitial thoughts when you saw this image? When I first saw this picture my thoughts were how sad it is that people actually have to protest for them to understand what they are doing to some of the people in Brazil. It is extremely unfair because they need the money for education and hospitals that is how people survive. I just don’t understand.
2. What does this image make you think about and why?
This image makes me think about how all the money that they spent could have been used on useful things like hospitals and education. It makes me think this way because I am not a huge fan of soccer and I want to help the families and children out there in Brazil needing these resources but are not able to get it because of all the money they spent it is not fair.
3. How does the image make you feel and why?
This image makes me feel lucky that we have all the things we need and have enough money to pay for things like hospitals and education. I feel this way because the Brazil people don’t have that and it makes me feel greedy almost that we have all this and they don’t, someone needs to step up or I will.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil?
I think the people are upset in Brazil about the major sporting event because the streets become busy and they do not get to places easily, that would be really stressful. Also because of the money and the noise, the list can go on; I think it was wrong to have the major sporting event in Brazil with them having such a low amount of appliances.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there?
The decisions of a nation can impact on the lives of the people living there by the money they spent on the stadium they had to use their land for it and they have used up a lot of Brazil’s money doing it. They may not even use the stadium again so they spent all the money on a stadium just for one event, which does not seem right.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why?
Think before you do, is the message I think it showed because Brazil should have thought before they came up with the idea of the stadium, it was a bad idea because they did not think of their own people and how they would be affected by this change.
1.What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image?
When I saw the image I was thinking of the poor people and how they live I also thought about people that are sick and people who need resources to survive.
2 .What does this image make you think about and why?
It made me think about the poor and people who need help because If people are spending money on the world cup they wouldn’t be a caring about the people that need help and money.
3. How does the image make you feel and why?
The image made me feel sad and depressed because the government is not caring for people and it also made me feel disappointed because I never thought the government would do this and have to make people make signs to tell him to stop.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil?
I think people are upset because the government isn’t caring about people and spending all the money on a soccer tournament when they could be giving it to the people that actually need money they have the world cup for people amusement while the people that are poor need it.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there?
The decision could impact on the people in Brazil because the government could have helped lots of people and saved many lives instead of hosting the fifa world cup
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why?
I think the main message behind the text is to tell us not to waste money and spend it on things that are important and share food around to people that need food or money to survive.
Dear 6JL bloggers,
1. What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image?
When I saw this image, my initial thoughts were about the hospitals, education and poor or people not as wealthy and why they do not have the right and enough resources.
2. What does this image make you think about and why?
This image makes me think about wasting money because many people are homeless and have no money to have education, clothes and buy food.
3. How does the image make you feel and why?
This makes me feel a bit happy because I was watching the World Cup and made the most of it because many people didn’t want the World Cup to happen. I also felt annoyed about how many people’s opinions were not taken in consideration.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil?
I think some people are upset about having major sporting events because you need to spend a lot of money on stadiums and because people from other countries can come and ruin the event.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there?
The decision of a nation can impact the lives of other people living there because many people can die from no food. This is because money is spent on the stadium instead of supporting the homeless and poor people.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why?
I think the main message behind this image is to help your own country instead of other things that aren’t as important. Also for example it is just like preferring your friends instead of your family.

Hello felow bloggers,
1. What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image? the moment i saw this picture i felt sad because people actually have to protest for them to understand what they are doing to some of the people in Brazil. I feel bad for the people of Brazil due to he fact that they don’t get get to be able to do things that mean the most to them
2. What does this image make you think about and why? What this image makes me feel is how sorry I feel that makes me think about wasting money because many people are homeless and have no money to have education, clothes and buy food.
3. How does the image make you feel and why? This image makes me feel upset that people are suffering from poverty due to mega sporting events held by their country. I also felt annoyed about how many people’s opinions were not taken in consideration.
4. Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil? I think that the people are upset that due to not enough money for their education and for newly developed hospitals.
5. How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there? The decision of a nation can impact the lives of people living there, if the nation decides to spend lots of money on an event and doesn’t support the poor. having this happen will make peoples lives really difficult and hard to maintain.
6. What do you think is the main message behind this image and why? I think that the main message beking the picyures is to tell us that their lifestyles are at rock bottom and they need money to help them survive the harsh conditions they might face.
When I saw this image I understood why there was opposition to the world cup being hold in Brazil by locals. One local held a poster that stated ‘WE NEED MONEY FOR HOSPITALS AND EDUCATION’. When I saw this, I was so surprised to see Brazil as a country that doesn’t have enough money for HOSPITALS and EDUCATION, but enough to spend on mega-sporting events, such as the World Cup. Building the stadium and the facilities with money that could be used on helping their own country and civilians on building them proper houses and making proper facilities for their human needs and essentials. I really enjoyed watching the World Cup but now I wish that it was held somewhere else to stop this major problem still happening in Brazil.
This image makes me think about all the desperate people in Brazil and how they must live their live and how they must have felt when the World Cup was being held. All the money getting put towards a mega-sporting event, not their lives and people. I wish that they had received human rights before sport. I wish that Brazil had taken more care in planning this event and thought about their people first. I still would have wanted the world cup to be held, but just using the appropriate amount money to spend, and to remember about their people.
This image makes me feel so lucky to have all the general facilities and a good house to live in. I also felt sad seeing that because of how Brazil treated their civilians after soccer.
When I first took a look at the image, I was very surprised as when I watched the World Cup, I never thought that the people of Brazil would go against it. I read both posters and I realised that Brazil needed that money they spent to build the stadium and other facilities, for the civilians of Brazil and their human needs and essentials. I don’t understand why Brazil didn’t use some of that money they used on the World Cup, for their people that were in need of hospitals, education and other needs. I very much enjoyed watching the World Cup but I believe that Brazil could have spent some of that money, on improving their facilities and their people. This will fulfil my wish of making the people of Brazil happy.
While looking at this image, I thought about the people of Brazil and how they felt when the World Cup was running. I thought that Brazil should be more concerned of their people and how they are living instead of a mega-sporting event. I believe that the civilians of Brazil should receive human rights and get the facilities that they need. As well as thinking this, I still want the World Cup to be held, just not as much money spent on it.
This image made me feel very upset, guilty but lucky. I felt upset as Brazil doesn’t have enough concerns for the facilities that the civilians need. I now feel guilty now knowing this as so many people, including me, was celebrating while watching the World Cup when people are in need of help. I also feel lucky to be able to receive the human rights and needs while unfortunately some people don’t.
I think that people are upset for having a major sporting event in their country because they need the money for other purposes.
