“Brazil – Podcast”

    Dear fellow bloggers,
After listening to this podcast I decided to answer the focus questions
Question 1: What were you thinking whilst listening to the Podcast? While I listened to the podcast I thought about how the guest speakers’ life was so different to ours. Although there were some similarities like how Australia and Brazil were so dedicated to sport. It is like a religion to Brazil.
Question 2: What did you find particularly interesting about what was said and why? I felt interested that the woman was feeling negative about Brazil hosting the World Cup. She was feeling negative because Brazil had so many other problems like, education and health
Question 3: What question or questions would you have liked to have asked, if you were conducting the interview? I would love to have asked the question about what is so amazing about Brazil. Her answer for this question was very impressive about the food and landscape.
Question 4: Do you agree or disagree with her view of Brazil hosting the World Cup – why/why not? I disagree that Brazil should have hosted the World Cup even though they did a great job of it they spent too much money on it. That was money they didn’t have to spend they already are a less wealthy country and now they have nothing to provide towards health and education, but since they had blown all that money on the soccer world cup I guess they were never really providing the money towards social problems.
    🙂

    Dear fellow bloggers,
During listening to this interview my initial thought was that she had a lot of memories to do with Brazil and left Brazil for the sake of a good future leaving a lot of memories behind about her past.
What I found most interesting about what she said was that she only had 200-300 students in her schools when she was young and that the school started at 7m and ended at 11:30am. I found it particularly hocking since normal school starts at 9 am and ends at 3:30 pm.
The questions I would have liked to ask her are what her life was like in Brazil and if there was not many education problems in Brazil would she have stayed in Brazil. I would have also liked to ask if each region had different variations of the language.
I agree with her point of view of not holding the world cup because holding the world cup can cause there to have a lot of debt in one country and cause the country to have a lot of poverty.

I was thinking about what connections I could make with Australia and brazil and I was thinking about the world cup and I was wondering if they should’ve held it because from what she was saying it seemed that brazil needed to focus more on their people’s health and education and once that is stable they then should’ve thought about sport. I was also thinking about what she said about her school and I wondered what they would lean at school there. What I found interesting was that the school only had 200-300 people because it seems quite small. The things she told me about her school were quite different to Australia. for example in brazil school started at 7 am and ended at 11:30 am this was interesting as I didn’t think the school would end so soon. The questions I would have asked would be to do with her life now and I would ask her about the life she has now and I would ask if she had any new opportunities here that she enjoyed a lot. I wanted to know if she thought she made the right descions to come here. I agree with her views as there is poverty in Brazil and as I said before brazil’s priority shouldn’t be sport but instead their people and their country.

    Hello fellow bloggers,
When I listened to the Brazil Podcast I was thinking about her accent and how different it was. Also about what she said with the school days I would like to have those school days.
What I found very interesting was that she said that Brazilian food is better than Australian food, I thought ours was better. Also how in different regions there are different styles of festivals, foods and the way they talk, I thought they would have been the same because they are in the same country so why don’t they have the same things.
A question I would of asked was did any family or friends come with her when she came to Australia and what do they do at Carnivals and festivals because I was interested if any one came with her and also I am extremely curious about what they do at Carnivals because they sound like fun.
I agree with the Brazilian refugee on her point of view on Brazil hosting the world cup, because it is true they should of spent the money on education and helping the poor in North Brazil and getting health care for people in need. It is extremely unfair and unreasonable.

    Dear Fellow Bloggers,
While listening to the podcast I thought about how she described the people of Brazil and how they lived. How she described her school, and what time she started and finished compared to school here in Australia. I also thought about how some kids in Brazil couldn’t go out that much because it was too dangerous. Listening to what she said what I found particularly interesting was what she said about the children not allowed to go out that much because it was dangerous. I found that interesting because I thought Brazil was a very safe country but some parts were dangerous but she acted like the whole of Brazil was really dangerous so I was really surprised. A question that I would have asked her is what is, about her religion and what do you do with it, celebrate special occasions or something else. I’m not 100% sure what I think about Brazil hosting the world cup a lot of people were complaining and stuff but if you look now the world cup is over and there is no more complaining.

    • What were you thinking while listening to the Podcast?
When I was listening to the podcast I was thinking about the world cup because the person that was interviewed was Brazilian and the fifa world cup was hosted in Brazil
    • What did you find particularly interesting about what was said and why?
Something I found interesting was when the Brazilian lady said that she was disappointed at the world cup because she said they could have used the money better by giving it to education and hospitals.
    • What question or questions would you have liked to have asked, if you were conducting the interview?
I would have asked do you like Brazil better or Australia and why?
Is Australia’s environments better or Brazil’s environments?

    • Do you agree or disagree with her view of Brazil hosting the World Cup – why/why not?
I agree with her view of the world cup because there are poor and people that need help out there and the government could have helped them by giving them money instead of hosting the fifa world cup.

    Dear fellow bloggers,
What were your initial thoughts when you saw this image? My thoughts that why do government spend billions of dollars on some things when they have poor people in their countries. They have poverty so I would give a rich country like our country Australia or another country because they is a hole heap of people that live in thoughts houses stacked on top of each another and is really crowded area..
What does this image make you think about and why? I was thinking about why they would do that when they have poverty and people staving and no work so why do this? Maybe to bring in tourist because they showed there beautiful landscapes and pictures of Jesus witched look spectacular and wonder beaches and more so they might be advertising to get more money but why when they can just give the poor people the money for the stadium instead of wasting money.
How does the image make you feel and why? I feel sad for the people that are poor and the government spending their money on the world cup when there so poor they can’t afford to put food on the table and can’t find work I can’t believe the government did this.
Why do you think the people are upset about having a major sporting event in Brazil? Because there are poor people who are in poverty and there spending billions of dollars on a sporting event that a richer country can host instead of the Brazil that has poverty.
How can the decisions of a nation impact the lives of people living there? Exactly like this one were poor people get even more poor because the government waste money one things they don’t really need and other ones are war because if the nation goes to war the people have to escape to another country and the civilian city’s get bombed and destroyed and people die.
What do you think is the main message behind this image and why? That there is stuff you need and stuff you want and to help the people in need and to think of another.

    Dear fellow bloggers,
After listening to the podcast I came up with the following answers to the questions.
    1. What were you thinking whilst listening to the podcast?
While I was listening to the podcast I was thinking about how different our lives are to peoples in Brazil for example school, in Brazil they start school at 7am and end school at 11am, and here in Australia we start school at 9am and end school at 3.30pm. Another difference is that there are 32 students per class and in the entire school there are 200 students.

    2. What did you find particularly interesting about what was said and why?
I found that the lady from Brazil disagreed with the idea of hosting the World Cup. I knew that the question “Do you agree or disagree with the World Cup being hosted in Brazil?” was coming and I expected her to say “Yes, because I am a BIG soccer fan.” She believed that education and health were way more important.

    3. What question or questions would you have liked to have asked, if you were conducting the interview?
If I was conducting the interview I would ask her, what is her favourite landmark or city she visits in Brazil? I would be very intrigued about her answer because there is so many intriguing places in Brazil.

    4. Do you agree or disagree with her view of Brazil hosting the World Cup – why/why not?
I disagree with hosting the world cup in Brazil because they should be spending the money for the health of people and the education for adults and mainly children instead of spending the money for new stadiums.
    
