The primary purpose of descriptive writing is to describe a person, place or thing in such a way that a picture is formed in the reader’s mind. Your task is to write a description of your favourite place in the world.
1. Include many vivid sensory details that paint a picture and appeals to all of the reader’s senses of sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste when appropriate.
2. Try to use figurative language such as analogies, similes and metaphors to help paint the picture in the reader’s mind.
Draft the paragraph in your writing book and publish in a word document to then post onto the blog.

To understand that being a Global Citizen means that you are aware of global issues and recognise that your decisions can influence the world that we live in.

1. Why do you think the cartoon is called a Greenhouse Nightmare?
2. The cartoon uses stereotypes. How does the cartoonist represent people living in wealthy, developed countries and those living in poor, developing countries? List the possessions shown in both households.
